Pointspan® SPN (SIP Pointspan Node) - Realizing the Next Evolution

SPN is a compliment to all existing Pointspan nodes and provides a large feature set, centralized administration, circuit switched integration and a logical migration path to full industry standard VoIP.
Stations on an SPN are controlled by Pointspan servers in the same manner as IPN stations and provides:
  • A large feature set based on SIP
  • Directory numbers can appear and simultaneously ring on both ITE and SIP stations at the same time
  • Feature transparency between traditional circuit switched users and SIP users
  • A single system wide database
  • Most existing Pointspan applications are available to SIP users
  • Single call control in the Pointspan ECS servers
  • Single user administration interface
  • A single call detail recording data steam for easy integration with existing call accounting applications.

An SPN consists of a server running SPN software and up to 500 SIP stations located anywhere on the enterprise network or, with appropriate security, anywhere on the public internet. The tight integration with both Pointspan users and administration means that implementing industry standard SIP stations will now be cost effective and any migration of existing circuit switched users to SIP will be simple and inexpensive.

  • Open Standard
  • Advanced SIP Capabilities
  • ITE-Like SIP Features
  • Increased Efficiency
